Engertstein

Bright red color, with highlights indicating evolution in the bottle. Nice nose with elements of ripe cherries, spices, and oak. Elegant on the palate, and well structured with a lingering aftertaste of ripe red fruits and vanilla notes.

Engertstein is the name of the local Cru. Fruit from selected vineyards, with different clonal material and strictly controlled yield. Fermentation in open barrel for 4 weeks, with 35% whole bunches in fermentation, maturation in 1 - 3 use barrels and 10% in new barrels only for 16 months. Bottled unfiltered, without further finishing.
