Richard Kershaw Wines

Richard Kershaw MW is one of the 10 Masters of Wines in the world who makes his own wines and is the only MW winemaker in South Africa. He established Richard Kershaw Wines in 2012 in Elgin Valley, the coolest wine region in the country. The Elgin Valley benefits from the high altitudes, proximity to the oceans from where humidity & cold air reach the grapes, with days longer than nights, these are all making a similar climate to South Burgundy and the Northern Rhone where Chardonnay and Syrah show a sense of place. Focusing on clones of grape varieties that are adaptable on the specific terroir, in order to produce world-class wines, such as Kershaw Elgin Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Kershaw Deconstructed Chardonnay and Syrah.
